Sing A Long

At the end of the day, we had our Winsted Elementary Sing A Long! We found out that Mrs. Olson can play the piano! We sang songs and had a fun and wonderful time!

Classroom Full of Santas!

Here we are...celebrating Christmas in America. We took our last flight around the states and returned to make Santa Masks. Check them out!

Mrs. Claus

Today Mrs. Claus came to visit us! Santa told her what an amazing class we have so she HAD to come and check it out. She read us a story and gave us a treat before leaving. She informed us that Vixen had brought her and Mr. Claus into town and that Vixen is quite the fast reindeer!

Polar Express

Can anything be more magical than the Polar Express? Thanks to some very dedicated parents, they set the scene perfectly! We walked on train tracks, met the conductor, heard the conductor read The Polar Express, drank hot chocolate and ate treats from the snack cart. What a day! We even got to see Santa.
The conductor punching tickets. See the steam from the train coming out?
 On the train...
Parents getting the hot cocoa and treats ready! Yum!

 The conductor reading to us!
 Here comes Santa!

Santa greeting the kids!

Las Posadas

I would like to say that when we flew to Mexico, we enjoyed some time at the beach, but we didn't. We learned about Las Posadas and made poinsettias and ate chips and salsa!

So, here is what we found out about Chips and Salsa. Many students didn't even want to try the salsa. Our rule in our room is to try a little nibble and if you don't like it, you don't need to finish it. However, as you can maybe tell from the Salsa jar the majority of the students either liked it right away (though this was a small amount) or tried it and wanted more! Our jar was empty by the end of snack! Yummy!

Raz Kids

Most of us got into the computer lab for the first time to work on Raz Kids. While a couple of kiddos missed out, all students will be going into the lab soon to try out this reading comprehension program. If your child did not get a sheet with the website and password on it, it will come home soon!

St. Lucia Day

As we traveled around the world to learn about different holidays, we stopped in Sweden to learn about St. Lucia Day. Check out our photos below!
Here we are in our crowns and star boy hats!
Our Lucia Cats that we made for snack. Yum!

Hanukkah

Today we flew to Israel (and actually, we forgot to fly back home - oops!). We learned about the Menorah, the Star of David and ate Latkes and Applesauce for snack.
On our Flight...

Let me just apologize now for the glitter...Sorry!
But the craft for the day turned out AWESOME!

No grating potatoes here! We used a mix for our Potato Pancakes (Latkes)
 Frying up in a pan!

 Trying them out with applesauce!
