End of Quarter Assembly

Today was our end of quarter assembly. Mrs. Olson announces who had perfect attendance during Quarter 3 and then the teachers recognize how the students are doing in AR. Since kindergarten does not do AR, we highlighted that our students can now read to themselves for 14 minutes without interruption and that they have read over 1000 books on Raz-Kids. Amazing!
Waiting for the assembly to start!

Egg Art Project

This week we completed a really difficult, but AMAZING art project! The kids had to draw an egg with glue. Once it was dried, I outlined the glue with black marker and then the kids got to water color it. The tricky part was only painting the non-glue part! They are looking awesome! They are currently being pressed flat but will hopefully go up in the hallway on Friday (March 27).
 Hard at Work!

 Don't they look incredible?!?

Dress like your favorite storybook character!

Here are our creative students dressed as their favorite storybook characters! Thanks to all the families who helped out with costumes!

Fairy Tales

We have started to learn about Fairy Tales in kindergarten. We have been reading a different Fairy Tale every day to see if it fits the criteria of a Fairy Tale (it may start with Once Upon a Time, it has good and bad characters, there is royalty, things happen in 3s, there is a wrong that is made right and it ends with ...they lived happily ever after). Most of the stories we have read do not have all of the elements...until the story we read today. Drum Roll please...it was... Beauty and the Beast!
Here we are doing a craft/writing activity about what we would do if we had our own magic wands! They are hanging up between the music room and Mrs. OL's classroom. Check them out when you are at school!
