Happy Halloween!

Okay...so I spent time last night putting together little Halloween treat bags for the kiddos and forgot to past them out...We'll have to prolong Halloween for Monday!
Here is how we spent our day...
Mrs. Schlueter, Jamie's Grandma, came to read us a MN Halloween story and left us cupcake to eat! Yum!

Sorting Skittles for the letter S...more sugar...

We not only sorted our Skittles but also graphed them by color...

We then made spider cookies for our afternoon snack...

In the afternoon, we had our Fall Festival. The kids were divided up into groups with different grade levels. They then got to go to 3 different stations. Here are some kindergarten students playing some Minute to Win It games...

S is for Spiders...

This week is a fun week in kindergarten for the letter Ss! We had spiders that took over our room today! Then, Mrs. OL, a former kindergarten teacher, came to our room to share with us her secret family recipe for Spider Soup! We cooked it throughout the day and ate it for snack. It was delicious!
Also, click on the link below to hear me read a book for the letter Ss!

Pumpkins!

Today we painted pumpkins for Halloween! These are the pumpkins that our daycare provider donated to our classroom. They turned out great! Watch for them to come home on Thursday!

Word Bird Words

We practice our word bird words almost every day in kindergarten! On your child's report card, we only check to see if s/he knows 8 of the words that were sent home so far. Check out the photos below that show us tracing, reading and stamping some word bird words!
