And so it ends...

It's a quiet Saturday here at school. I'm busy finishing packing up the classroom and getting report cards ready to be mailed. This is what the classroom looks like now...kind of sad, isn't it? But, I'm happy that all of my kinders did so well and will be moving on to 1st grade. I told them they HAD to stop back and give me a hug or a high five from time to time.

Kindergarten Graduation

We had a small graduation ceremony in kindergarten.

The students got their 'diplomas' and got to walk across the stage (a table) to receive it.

This year we did it as a whole kindergarten group.

Pretty impressive! Our friends are now first graders!!!!

Water Festival

This afternoon, due to the beautiful weather, we held our annual Water Festival. The staff first played a game of water balloon volleyball followed by water games for the kids to play. It was a perfect day to get a little wet!

Last Kinderbuddies

Today we had our last kinderbuddy activity with our 4th grade kinderbuddies. We drew on the sidewalk with chalk and then had Popsicles. A great way to end the year!

End of Year Assembly

This morning was our end of year assembly for Winsted Elementary. It is a loooooonnnnnnggggg time for kindergarten students to sit! Students were recognized for attendance, AR Points (in older grades), Citizenship Award, Academic Awards, the 4th graders performed a song with their recorders and also sang and last but not least...the 4th graders got their end of year certificates. The kiddos did a wonderful job sitting for that long!
