Today we had our school-wide end of quarter 3 assembly - a little late due to our unexpected snow day last Thursday. Mrs. Olson highlighted students with perfect attendance for the quarter and then each grade level got to share some 'shout outs' to highlight what has been happening at their grade. Our kindergarten shout outs were...our students have read over 3,300 backpack books, they have built their writing stamina to 15 minutes, they are working on addition in math and we are practicing for our kindergarten program at the end of May! The kinders even got to showcase one of the songs we'll be singing in our program by singing it to the whole school! Kind of scary but we did it and we now know what it feels like to sing in front of a crowd!
We have been spending the past couple of weeks learning about digraphs sh, th and ch. As a bonus fun snack we had a CH buffet today to honor ch! We ate chocolate chips, Cheez-its, Cheddar Goldfish, Cheetos, Lucky Charms, Chicken in a Biscuit, Cheese Balls, Cheesy Puffcorn, Cheerios, Chewy Chips Ahoy Chocolate Chip Cookies and more!
