Martin Luther King, Jr.

This week we are learning about diversity along with learning about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (a little late but we got there:)

We have been talking that it doesn't matter what color skin we have, what matters is what we have on the inside - are we showing kindness to everyone? Are we being fair to everyone?

Today we did a little experiment. We looked at the outside of 2 eggs - a brown one and a white one. They both looked different on the outside. We then cracked both of them open and found out that on the inside, they looked the same - kind of like people! It was a super easy little experiment that created some great conversation!

Raz Kids

Today we had Mrs. Struthers help us all log on to Raz Kids at the same time on our new touchscreen Chromebooks! Raz Kids is an on-line reading program that our students are able to use. Passwords to get on to the website will be sent home at conferences!

Mrs. K comes to visit:)

Mrs. K, our school counselor, came to our classroom today to share a lesson on honesty. She talked about always telling the truth and what you should do if you don't tell the truth. We also watched the read aloud, The Empty Pot, which shared a good lesson about telling the truth!

Chromebooks have arrived in kindergarten!

We got a class set of touch screen Chromebooks yesterday! After discussing the rules on how to use them, we tried them out today! We were a little slow to get things going but we'll get faster! We can't wait to use them more!
