Grocery Store

We are happy to announce that there is a new grocery store in town! Winsted Grocery Store opened up in our kindergarten classroom this Monday and it was a popular destination! Some children get to work as cashiers, some as stock people/store workers, some get to bag groceries and some get to shop. Thank you to everyone who donated food to help us stock our shelves. At the end of the month, all food will be donated to the local food shelf.

Introducing Silver Spurs!

On Monday, our classroom Elf on the Shelf named Silver Spurs, returned to kindergarten. We found him the first day on a shelf in the back of the room. The next day, he had moved to the top of our Smartboard! Ask your child where he has shown up each day!

Art with Mrs. Houston

We had our first official art lesson with Mrs. Houston today. She taught us about the 5 lines in art. We then created a 2D and 3D sculpture. They are hanging in the hallway by our room. We have some amazing artists in our class!
Mrs. Houston showing us the first part of the project...to use special markers to draw different lines on the paper that she handed out.

 Drawing lines...
She then explained how to use pipe cleaners to create different lines. Once they were created, they could be stuck into the Styrofoam shape on the paper. Buttons could also be added.

 Working on the sculptures!

Mrs. Adickes

On Monday, Mrs. Adickes, our school social worker came in for her first KinderSkilles lesson. We talked about our Greatness!
