Christmas in America and Polar Express!

Today we took our last flight and flew around America! We made Santa Masks and will decorate and eat Christmas cookies tomorrow. This afternoon, we boarded the Polar Express to the North Pole to meet Santa. We also got snacks from the treat cart and got to drink some delicious hot cocoa. It was a magical day!

Santa is all over the place!

Art with Mrs. Houston

Yesterday we had our first official art lesson with Mrs. Houston. She comes into our room 2x a year to do special art projects with the students. They learned about the different kinds of lines and then got to make a 3D sculpture. They came home today to display at home!

Celebrating Los Posadas in Mexico!

Today we flew to Mexico to celebrate Los Posadas! We learned how the celebration lasts for 9 days and ends on Christmas Eve. There is normally a procession along the village streets and music, good food and pinatas. We also learned that poinsettias come from Mexico. Check out the craft one we made in your child's bag today!

St. Lucia Day in Sweden

On Tuesday, we flew to Sweden to learn about St. Lucia! We made LuciaKatts (cat eyes) made out of bread dough and had Ms. Deb in the kitchen bake them for us. We also made crowns for the girls and star boy hats for the boys. We learned that St. Lucia Day is a celebration of light! That is why the girls wear candles on their heads and the boys have stars on their hats!
 Make our LuciaKatts...

What they looked like before we baked them...they are supposed to look like cat eyes:)
