Art Inspired by James Rizzi

This past week, we learned about American Pop Artist James Rizzi. In his paintings he used bright colors, drew buildings that looked like people, filled his backgrounds completely in with designs and loved to paint birds! When we looked at some of his paintings, they made us feel really happy! Using him for our inspiration, we painted our own birds to (FINALLY!) celebrate Spring!

April Snow Showers Bring...

...Kids still in snow pants and boots and mittens and hats!While we are ready to be done with the snow and the snow pants and the boots and the mittens and the hats, the kiddos sure had fun playing in the big piles of snow today for recess! Due to the late start, we even took them out a little bit earlier to start the fun!

Quarter 3 Assembly

Today we had our end of Quarter 3 assembly. We found out who had perfect attendance for the quarter and each grade level gave some 'shout outs' on what we've been working on. Our 'shouts outs' for kindergarten were...We've read a total of 4,120 backpack books, read a total of 6,569 minutes on Raz Kids and we have started to learn our songs and speaking parts for our program. For the showcase event at the assembly, we sang one of our songs...for the first time...in front of a crowd...and we survived!
