Halloween and S'mores!

Halloween has come and gone but we haven't posted any photos - so here they are:)

We celebrated with our costumes the week before Halloween when we had our Winsted Fall Festival so on Halloween, we did observations on pumpkins and ate ghost s'mores. Yum!

Kindergarten Science

Last week, we completed our first kindergarten science unit on Animal Needs. We learned about their needs for food, shelter and safety through our Mystery Science Curriculum. Throughout the lessons, we had to get up and do some pretending - like pretending to find snails to eat like racoons do, like making ourselves big like praying mantis insects do to protect themselves. Here are some photos of our kindergarten kiddos doing some acting out of animals during our lessons!

Pickle Day!

You can't celebrate the letter Pp without a Pickle Day! We spent the day reading pickle books - yes, there are pickle books - Stop that Pickle and Pickle Things. We work pickle hats (Thanks Gedney Pickles for them!) and taste tested pickles - dill, sweet gherkins, bread and butter and dill flavored potato chips. The favorites were the dill and the potato chips! 

It was a perfect pickle day!
