Mrs. Schahn, our PE teacher, sent this photo to me from PE. She has been doing a unit on Cup Stacking with the kids. They have been loving it!

On Wednesday, we met our 4th grade kinderbuddies for the first time. While we normally meet them in October, we were a little behind this school year and just jumped right into our first activity...making ice cream in a bag. What better way to celebrate the letter Ii?
On Tuesday, we had a short program in the school gym to Thank some Veteran's in honor of Veteran's Day. We said the Pledge of Allegiance and sang My Country Tis of Thee and also were introduced to four veterans who joined us for the occasion.
On Thursday, we had our end of quarter assembly. All the grades get together in the gym and Mrs. Olson first announces all the students who had perfect attendance during 1st quarter. Each grade level then gets recognized for how they are doing at AR. Since Kindergarten does not participate in AR, we celebrated that our kindergarten students know a total of 1,766 upper and lowercase letters. Our kindergarten end of school year goal is for ALL students to know ALL of their letters for a total of 1,924 letters!
The students were paired up with another student in our class and then put into a larger group with students from all grades. They then rotated around to different stations in the school. In our classroom, the kids had to play some different Minute to Win It games. Check them out below...
