Last week, we started our first unit in our KinderLiteracy Curriculum. We read books about friends and how to be a good friend. Our end project was drawing ourselves on crayons and putting us all in a big paper crayon box! Check out the books we read for this unit below.

Books!
We got free books to take home today! Through donations from family, friends and former parents, every child in kindergarten will get 1 free book a month! Thanks to all of our generous donors! This month in Mrs. Heuer's class, the book given out was Duck on a Bike!
Happy Reading!

Homecoming Week!
We have had a super first full week of school! To make it even more special, we celebrated HLWW's Homecoming week with crazy sock day, color day and laker day! This morning, the high school band, royalty, captains, and cheerleaders came to do a little pep fest for us!
Happy Friday!

The Gingerbread Man!
We have been reading different versions of the Gingerbread Man (Boy, Girl, etc.) and graphing how they are the same and different. Today for snack, we created super large gingerbread cookies! Ms. Deb, our school cook, baked them for us but peeked in the oven and then they ran away! We chased them to the gym, to the office, to music, to the library, to 4th grade, to 1st grade and we finally found them in Mrs. Heuer's classroom. We kept them safe until it was snack time. Boy, were they delicious!
Ms. Deb, our school cook, explaining what happened to our gingerbread cookies. Sorry - I can't flip the video the right way:(
