Johnny Appleseed!

Johnny Appleseed came through town last Friday on his birthday! He stopped by school so that we could sing to him and wish him a Happy Birthday! We made pots for our heads so that we could be just like him - since he also had a pot on his head! We also got to ask him some questions like... since he doesn't wear shoes, do his feet get cold (Yes! But, he's heading to a warmer place now). Why does he wear a pot on his head? (It protects his head and it's an easy way to carry his cooking pot). What is his favorite food to eat with apples? (Apple Pie)

He also gave us some red, yellow and green apples to eat for snack. After taste testing them, we graphed which one we liked better. Miss Miller's room had more people pick red and Mrs. Heuer's room had more people pick yellow!

N is for NIghttime!

For the letter Nn, we had our nighttime party! Check us out in our pajamas and during our little rest time that the kiddos asked for!

M is for Monsters!

While we are starting our first quick journey through the alphabet, we try to include some fun days and fun activities. For the letter Mm, we read Go Away Big Green Monster, did some splot painting and created our own monsters!

Mrs. K, School Counselor, visit!

Our school counselor, Mrs. Larson, is currently out on maternity leave. We have Mrs. K (our former counselor) stepping in to cover until Mrs. Larson returns in  December. Mrs. K. came to our room for a little get to know you lesson earlier this week. She hopes to come every other week to help us with different social skills!
