Art!

On Thursday, we had Mrs. Houston, our art teacher come in for a kindergarten lesson. She reviewed lines and then we discussed shapes (good thing we just covered it in math!). The kids made some amazing 3-D shape sculptures and then they got to paint them. They were amazing to see!
Mrs. Houston, giving us our directions.
Picking out bases for the sculptures.

Picking out the shapes for the sculptures. Each child was able to pick out 5.

Waiting in line for Mrs. Houston and Mrs. Heuer to hot glue to wood pieces to the bases.

Painting with shiny metallic paint! Cool!

Valentine's Day!

Our Hearts are full of love and our Stomachs are now full of...candy! We have been busy today! We created a special Valentine's gift that is being sent home today (no peeking!), played some Valentine games, opened up our Valentine
 Here are our bags...waiting patiently!

Doing some Valentine work on the floor!
Today we tried our first word search and it was a hard one! The students were troopers however and tried really hard. The word search is in your child's folder today. Try to help finish it at home.

100 Days of Kindergarten

Check out some of our activities we did for our 100th day of school! It was a busy day!
Did you hear that our Elf, Silver Spurs, came back to help us celebrate 100 days of school? He left us treats hidden around the room with numbers written on them. Here we are searching for all of them!
This photo is of us putting the candy in number order!

A photo with our line of 100 pieces of candy. Well, actually, there are only 98. We didn't find the other 2 until later in the day!
Making our 100 cereal necklaces by counting to 10 ten times!
 Our 100 day hats!
Showing off our collection of 100 items!

 Eating our 100 snack!

Read-A-Thon

Please help us reach our classroom goal of reading 100 hours this month. I appreciate it if you can send your reading calendar to school each Friday so that I can keep track of our minutes. Make sure to look for the slip that I send home on Thursdays that tell you how many minutes we have read throughout the week. Please add these minutes to your calendar. Check out our photo from last Friday for Read your Shirt Day!
 One serious...one not so serious!
