Handwriting

We have finished our formal handwriting lessons in our class. The students have now been taught how to make their uppercase and lowercase letters and number the 'school way'. Today, we have started to work in our journals. We are writing about some of the events that have taken place in kindergarten this school year. Each week, we'll continue to practice writing our upper and lowercase letters and numbers so that they are ready to do the read thing when we test them for report cards!
Working on our last official handwriting paper!

St. Patrick's Day and Reading Festival!

We've been busy testing the past couple of weeks so our posts have been lacking - sorry! But, today will make up for it! The Leprechaun came today and made a mess! We also made leprechauns that are hanging in our classroom that look adorable! This afternoon, we found out our totals for the read-a-thon! Our school raised a total of $3330 and read 4824 hours. Bravo!
 Look at the mess!

He left a mess - but left us treats!
Waiting outside as our door was locked...we were ready to catch the leprechaun if he was still inside!

Checking out all the mess he made!

We figured he came in through the ceiling and climbed down the rope of shamrocks!
Check out our cute windsock leprechauns we made!

Our end of I Love to Read Month Festival...there was a slide show showing photos of students reading throughout the month!

Revealing that the school raised a total of $3330!

The students from each grade level that read the most!

The students then went around the school to participate in 3 different reading activities. If they came into our room, we played Musical Chairs to Dr. Seuss songs!
