Applesauce!

For one of our final activities for our apple unit we made applesauce in class today! The students got to peel and core an apple and then we put it in the crock pot with a little sugar and a little cinnamon to cook throughout the day. It smelled delicious! While not all the students loved it, they all did try it!

Johnny Appleseed!

On Monday, Johnny Appleseed came through town and stopped at our school! We sang Happy Birthday to him and asked him many questions like...why does he wear a pot on his head? To use for cooking. Are his feet cold (he wasn't wearing shoes)? Yes but he was heading south where it was warmer. What is his favorite thing to eat that has apples in it? Apple Pie. 

Before he left, he gave us some green, yellow and red apples to taste test and we graphed which apple was our favorite one!

Homecoming!

Today ended our week of Homecoming celebrations with a Pep Fest with the high school band coming to play for us, the cheerleaders cheering with us, along with the royalty crew and the captains of the fall sports teams! 

It was loud and fun!
