Halloween Safety with Officer Lammers

Today, Winsted police officer Lammers came to our school to talk to us about Halloween safety. He also gave us cool reflective bags to use for trick-or-treating!

Heggerty Phonics

Almost everyday, we follow our Heggerty Phonics program, which provides explicit phonemic awareness instruction. This program is done through videos from the company. If you have ever heard your child talk about Mrs. Botari, that is the person in the videos that helps us with our phonemic awarenss skills! While we normally do this in our individual classes, we surprised Miss Miller's class one day and joined them while they went through their daily lesson!

Word Bird Words

Word Bird Words have been painted and sent home! This is a special bird - it only eats words! The first word sent home to put in the Word Bird's pocket was the word THE. 1 - 3 words will be coming home on Fridays to be put in the pocket. Please practice these words at home. Some of the words coming home are Heart Words - these are words the students need to learn by heart as they don't follow a spelling pattern that we know. Thanks for working on reading these words at home!
